Michael Carthy
Managing Director
Michael joined the firm in March 2013 and has played a pivotal role in growing and developing the business to where it is today.
Michael spent more than a decade behind the scenes at a successful arts centre before he decided to apply his creative skills to a new field, and soon became the “face” of the firm.
Using the same strategies the firm uses to coach clients, he has helped to drive the firm’s growth. Michael is passionate about clients’ successes, and offers business strategy advice sessions on getting started in networking, strategy planning and how to market your business effectively.
Outside of work Michael enjoys nothing more than spending time with family and friends or being sat on a beach in the sunshine.
Dr. Laura Sant MChem ACA
Director
Prior to training as an accountant Laura gained a PhD in Chemistry from The University of Manchester. Laura has been a director of the firm since August 2017 and is an ICAEW Chartered accountant, having undertaken her training at PwC.
Having previously had large multi-national corporations as clients, Laura enjoys having a much greater involvement with her current clients and working more closely with them. One of Laura’s specialisms is working within the foreign income and UK tax residency and domicile arenas, and has individual clients across the globe.
When she’s not working, Laura spends as much time as possible with her two daughters, Olivia and Molly, and through family indoctrination is an ardent West Brom fan!
Tessa Foy
Operations Director and Head of Client Services
Tessa is the firm’s second longest serving member of the team having joined in August 2012.
After 9 years within the accounts team Tessa's background in hospitality made her the natural candidate to take the reins as head of Client Services where she has excelled, and recently been appointed as Operations Director.
Tessa spends her free time with her family, renovating their home, and enjoying holidays in the sun.
Edith Woodward ACCA
Client Relationship Manager
Edith joined the firm in October 2017 after gaining 10 years’ experience in the accountancy industry at another local practice. Edith is a Chartered Certified Accountant and enjoys working closely with clients helping them to not only manage their tax affairs but helping with their business growth.
Edith’s keen interest in Cloud Accounting means she is not only a Xero certified advisor, but also a FreeAgent advisor and QuickBooks certified and loves watching clients manage their business better by using technology to their advantage.
When not in work, she enjoys nothing more than chasing after her daughter and son who cause mayhem and mischief. In whatever spare time she has left, she enjoys getting lost in another book on her Kindle, or binge watching the latest Netflix series.
Lucy Mayes MAAT
Client Relationship Manager
Lucy joined the firm in May 2021 having previously worked in another accountancy practice for over 4 years.
Lucy is AAT qualified and she is currently one exam away from qualifying as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant.
Lucy is a QuickBooks, Xero and FreeAgent certified advisor and enjoys exploring how businesses can better use technology to their advantage.
In her spare time Lucy enjoys baking and spending time with her family, and is an Aston Villa fan.
Adam Roy B.Sc (Hons) MAAT ACCA
Client Relationship Manager
Adam joined the firm in March 2023 after having gained 7 years’ experience in the accounting industry at other practices.
Coming from a compliance background, he understands that the Accounting industry has to adapt to keep up with the modern day, and has a keen interest in the advisory sphere toward entrepreneurship, business growth and success, and working closely with clients to achieve their business goals, whether this be through strategy and planning, or tech implementation.
Away from the office, Adam has a range of interests and hobbies which keeps him busy, but loves nothing more than spending quality time with family and friends.
Shernade Rogerson
Accounting Technician
Shernade joined the team in June 2022 as an Accounting Technician, after working in industry for the last 5 years and is currently studying towards her AAT qualifications.
In her spare time she enjoys going to the gym, running and spending time with her friends & family. She is also a football fan and supports Liverpool.
Since joining she has already passed her QuickBooks, Xero and FreeAgent advisor training so is now qualified to advise clients on these software’s.
Jacob Hind BSc (Hons)
Accounting Technician
Jacob joined the firm in September 2022 as part of the accounts team, whilst on his placement year as part of his university degree.
Since starting Jacob has already passed his certification on Xero, FreeAgent and QuickBooks and is upskilling himself on cloud bookkeeping, VAT, CIS and accounts production.
In his spare time Jacob enjoys going to the cinema and playing guitar.
Zoe Bradley
Accounting Technician
Zoe joined the accounts team in October 2024 after working for a larger corporate firm, where she completed her bachelor’s degree in business management and accounting with first-class honours.
Zoe is certified on Xero, FreeAgent and QuickBooks and her next goal is to complete her ACCA qualification.
Zoe has wanted to be an accountant since her school years as she enjoys how numbers can tell a story.
In her spare time, she loves sending time with her two young children, and encouraging them to learn.
Jane Feist ACIPP
Payroll Manager
Jane is our longest serving team member, and has watched both the business and the team grow over her time with the firm.
Managing the payroll function, Jane helps our clients with payroll and PAYE queries, often dealing with HMRC and pension providers on their behalf.
In her spare time Jane enjoys spending time with her family and going to music festivals.
Lorna Morris
Senior Administrator
Lorna joined the team in March 2023 as a Senior Administrator within the Client Services team. She joined following a role in recruitment administration with an engineering firm.
In her previous career roles, Lorna has worked in Payroll Administration for around twelve years both in corporate companies and within accountancy firms.
In Lorna's spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as trips to the theatre and she is a big rugby fan.
Natalie Campbell
Administrator
Natalie has years of experience working in customer facing administration roles primarily.
In her spare time she love spending time with her husband and two daughters exploring national trust properties and going on holidays, baking, cooking, and reading a good book on her kindle.
