Rupert set-up our accountancy business back in 2001. Since then he has grown the business from one man working from home to the town centre offices and a team of over 10 staff.
He knows that many small businesses fail to make it to their first anniversary – let alone their tenth or beyond – because they aren’t able to recognise the need for planning and change. The thing he enjoys most is using his experience to advise clients how to achieve the “earn more, save more, stress less” goal.
In addition to working with clients Rupert’s role as Director keeps him busy supervising internal operations and managing the whole team to ensure the smooth running of the practice, and making sure that we keep the needs of the client at the heart of everything we do.
An avid football fan, he is a frequent visitor to The Hawthorns – home of West Bromwich Albion. For Rupert’s 60th birthday the team made him a permanent fixture with his own brick on the Baggie’s brick road heading into the stadium.
Michael joined the family business in March 2014, and has been vital in growing and developing the practice – including masterminding our recent office move and expansion.
After over a decade of being behind the scenes at a successful Arts centre he decided to apply his management skills to a new field, and soon became the “face” of the company. Using the same creative strategies used to coach our clients he has driven Carthy Accountants growth to the highest percentage seen in our 15 year history.
Michael is passionate about our client’s success, and offers advice sessions on getting started in networking, strategy planning and how to effectively market your business – usually over a glass of wine or gin and tonic in the office.
Despite all of this his most prized achievement to-date has to be securing the future of Carthy Accountants for generations to come, when he and wife Katie celebrated the arrival of Carthy Jnr in August 2016. They look forward to sharing their love of food, travel and entertainment with him.
